We are the Hahns (Mike, Christina and Avary) and live near Cleveland, OH. Since the beginning of our marriage we have always had the desire to adopt and we know God is now allowing us to begin the adoption process to grow our family! After researching all options we feel that all doors are leading us to an open adoption in Ohio.
First and foremost we would love your prayers as we enter into this season. God's word says in Phillipians 4:6-7 that we are dependent on prayer through this process for our peace and to guard our hearts and minds in this journey. So we thank you for your prayers and are encouraged to know how many people are praying for our future family.
Second, one of the main reasons we chose to work with our angency is their care for the biological mother as a key to their ministry. The open adoption process will allow for the highest emotional care for the mother, our adoptive child, and the rest of our family. In addition you may or may not know that adoptions range anywhere from $25,000 to $70,000. One of the reasons we have chosen Spirit of Faith Adoptions is that they are very clear about the financial side of the adoption process. Most of their adoptions end up between $25,000 - $36,000 on average.
While we have the means to financially support and care for our child once they're here we will be applying for various grants and tax credits to help us afford the process but they only act as a reimbursement. The reality is nearly all of the money is needed up front to bring our child home along with ensuring our home repairs are completed for the home study.
Would you consider stepping into this part of our family journey with us? Whether you feel led to donate, pray for us, or send words of encouragement, it would mean the world to us. We are able to receive donations here or by check.
Our past pregnancies
We have had two traumatic pregnancies, one that resulted in a beautiful blue-eyed girl who is now almost nine. While we had a great outcome the hospital stay and emergency surgery was traumatic and took a toll on my body mentally and physically. It took us a while and lots of doctor's opinions to be comfortable trying again.
The second pregnancy was a ruptured ectopic pregnancy that needed emergency surgery. Not thinking a pregnancy could be more traumatic than the first, it was. They moved so fast and quite literally saved my life but all in an hour we found out we were pregnant but lost our baby. Counseling was helpful and even though the outcome was devastating, we could see Gods hand in the timing and doctors. From the impact to my body I was later diagnosed with a trauma induced autoimmune disease.
In November of 2023 I found out I had a tear in my uterus from Avary’s pregnancy that will likely continue to grow. It was recommended to have a hysterectomy. In late December I prayed and asked God to just make it crystal clear what the next step for our family should be. Through a series of events, he has done just that by showing us he wants us to adopt.
It is our view that God has called us to steward the resources he provides and we feel so honored that our church family is supporting us.
