Groups of church members help lead specific ministries under the guidance of the elders and staff.  A nominating committee selects the members of each team, who are then affirmed by the congregation for a two-year term.  Current ministry teams lead the following areas of our church:

Administration
The Administration Ministry Team creates and enforces all necessary procedures to protect the church’s property, facilities, employees, and volunteers. In addition, the team ensures that the facility, employees, and ministry programming operate in an ethical and efficient manner.

Assimilation
The Assimilation Ministry Team implements programs and ministries that welcome people to Providence Church and help them become part of our church body. The team equips members from the congregation to ensure that new visitors are greeted warmly and personally connected though relationships and FLOCKS Groups. These relationships should lead to active Christian care for others and membership in the church. Practically, this team coordinates the greeters, the Information Center, PB&J Lunches, and the Providence 101 Membership Class.

Children
The Children’s Ministry Team desires to glorify God by encouraging and enabling our children to experience God through worship and study. We strive to partner with the family in laying a spiritual foundation that will lead to a life-long relationship with Christ. The key areas of responsibility involve Sunday morning programming, which includes volunteer recruitment, training, and curriculum. The ministry team also provides vision for Vacation Bible School in the summer and any additional events or programming the team envisions as appropriate for our children.

Cross-Cultural Missions
The Cross-Cultural Missions Ministry Team develops and oversees Providence Church’s efforts to take the Gospel into communities which are beyond the bounds of our congregation’s geographic or cultural reach. Key areas of responsibility include encouraging the congregation to support missionary activity, identifying and overseeing the church’s supported missionaries, and building prayer support from the congregation toward our church’s mission efforts.

Domestic Missions
The Domestic Missions Ministry Team develops and oversees Providence Church’s efforts to take the Gospel into communities which are beyond the bounds of our congregation’s geographic or cultural reach. Key areas of responsibility include encouraging the congregation to support missionary activity, identifying and overseeing the church’s supported missionaries, and building prayer support from the congregation toward our church’s mission efforts.

Facility & Grounds
Working closely with the Office and Facility Manager, the Facility & Grounds Ministry Team ensures that the facility and grounds are well maintained, in good repair, and ready to be used in ministry by the congregation. This ministry team identifies and mobilizes volunteers to perform the occasional but necessary maintenance, repairs, and special projects that present themselves. Most of the ongoing, routine maintenance would be performed by our custodial staff and outside vendors.

Men's
The Men’s Ministry Team develops and implements programs and ministries that will integrate men into Providence Church and help them grow in spiritual maturity. Key responsibilities include developing and organizing social events, men’s Bible studies, and occasional trips and retreats.

Nominating Committee
The Nominating Ministry Team identifies and selects qualified candidates to serve on ministry teams. In order to find qualified candidates, they seek input from the congregation, current ministry team leaders, elders and staff, and initiate conversations with prospective candidates about ministry opportunities. The slate they develop is then presented to the elders for approval prior to being voted on by the congregation.

Worship Arts
The Worship Arts Ministry Team plans, leads, and oversees worship arts programming that focuses God’s people on Him. Key areas of planning and oversight include Sunday mornings, special events, music, A/V, and arts support. Their responsibilities also include interviewing and auditioning new worship team applicants and overseeing seasonal decorations.

Women's
The Women’s Ministry Team seeks to assist and encourage women in their Christian faith by providing opportunities to the study God’s Word, pray, fellowship, outreach, serve, and worship. This group of women coordinates and plans weekly Bible studies, retreats, brunches, socials, prayer groups, MOPS, the quilting ministry, and other service opportunities.

Youth
The Youth Ministry Team develops and oversees plans that will provide every student the opportunity to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Key responsibilities include working with the youth staff (David Boerema, Brian Pachinger, and Val O'Brien) to ensure that plans are in place to accomplish that mission. The team is also encouraged to get personally involved with the youth group by leading a small group or volunteering at youth events.
